Biography ( for oral presentations only )
A short biography (50 words) is required for each speaker and will be used to introduce each speaker by the session chairperson as well as published in the conference proceedings book. Deadline: July 15, 2008.
Slides for Conference Proceedings Book ( for oral presentations only )
Each presenter is required to submit only 4 – 8 slides most descriptive of their presentation to be included in the Conference Proceedings Book. The first slide should include title of presentation, author(s) and affiliation(s). Electronic submissions should be directed to nutra@worldnutra.com on or before July 15, 2008, in MS Power Point format. Slides will be printed in the book 4 to a page in landscape as a handout format in black & white. Please make sure your slides appear as you would like them to in the handout format in black & white to see if they are too dark or if there is missing data, etc., and make adjustments prior to sending them to us for publication.
Slides for Actual Presentation ( oral presentations only )
Speakers will be asked to e-mail ALL of their presentation slides to us by October 1, 2008, (in Power Point format). This will allow sufficient time for us to transfer files to session CDs and double check all presentations. We will no longer have a carousel slide projector available at the symposium or conference. Presenters wishing to use a laptop for their presentation are advised to bring their own with Microsoft Powerpoint presentation saved on it, as well as a backup saved on CD Rom or Floppy disc. All presentations will be transferred onto a master computer for each seminar room. LCD projections systems will be available. We will have an IT person in the Speaker Ready Room to assist with any on-site changes.

DIRECTIONS FOR PREPARING ABSTRACTS
Please adhere to the following specifications in preparing your abstract.
- Abstracts can only be accepted in electronic format (email or on disc).
- Abstracts should be no more than 100 words in length (one half page).
- No charts or tables are to be included.
- Ensure that your abstract is grammatically correct and free of other errors, especially symbols.
- Use single spacing for all text (Margins: 1.2" - Arial Font: 12 pt).
- The text on the abstract should be a single paragraph on half a page
- Use a short and concise title that indicates the content of the abstract. Capitalize each word and underline or italicize scientific names.
- Use standard abbreviations. Capitalize the first letter in trade names. When using abbreviations for compounds, spell out the name in full at the first mention, and follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Do not use abbreviations in the title of the abstract.
- Authors' names should NOT be in capital letters. Underline or place an asterisk after the name of the author (if there is more than one) presenting the paper. Each author should be listed by department, division, institute, city, state and country. All addresses and e-mail addresses should follow the last author's name.
DIRECTIONS FOR PREPARING POSTERS
- Include the title of the presentation, the name of the authors and the institution where the work was completed at the top of the poster.
- At least one of the authors must attend the poster during the designated time period to discuss the work presented.
- Handouts can be very useful.
- Results should be presented graphically if possible. Avoid large tables of data.
- After the title, the two most important panels are the introduction and the conclusion. On the basis of these two panels, a reader will decide whether to look at the results and perhaps talk to the presenter. These panels need to be very simple and concise and visually attractive.
- The methods should be presented very simply and concisely.
- Character height recommendations: - Title: 2.4cm; Headings: 10 - 16mm; Text: 5 - 8mm
- Use the space to attract your audience for discussion, not to present complex details of methods and results.
- Ordinary typewritten copy is NOT acceptable.
- A matte finish on photographs gives better visibility due to reduction of glare.
- Poster Boards are 4 ft tall x 8 ft wide.
